Texas Round Up Band began in the early ‘80s as an old time country/gospel band who played at the First Baptist Church of Dallas’ “Round Up” event every fall. Band members include Jim Gunn on pedal steel guitar, Jerry Halcomb on Bass, Bill Lintner on guitar, Benny Barrett on fiddle, Tim Smith on Drums and Bruce Dunai on harmonica. We play a mixture of Classic Country, Western Swing, and Gospel tunes, and if the occasion fits we may even throw in some old time rock and roll. Drawing from a wide range of musical influences the band mixes elements of Bob Wills, Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb, and favorite old time gospel tunes such as “I am a Pilgrim” and “I’ll Fly Away”. We have played at venues from coast to coast (both coasts of the Trinity River), including churches and brick factories, country clubs and country farms. We are available for banquets, parties, or whatever excuse you can think of for puttin‘ on your scootin’ boots, and cowboy hat and just havin’ fun.
