Calgary Round-Up Band is a community-focused registered charity that delivers unique performance experiences for youth as one of Canada’s premier youth performing arts programs.
Combining music with movement to produce unforgettable experiences, the organization provides opportunities for youth to develop musical skills in a unique, fun and exciting performance-based atmosphere.
More Than A Band
Each year Round-Up provides multiple performance programs ranging from smaller Concert Band and Winter Guard / Winter Percussion programs to Full Band programming at parades and field show competitions.
Membership Requirements
Share amazing experiences with like-minded youth and make friends that last a life time. Open to all community youth ages 12-14 (Grades 7-9) who have a passion for the arts and music.

Join us as we tour annually around the globe brining life-changing experiences tour to members. Touring experiences focus on performance excellence, life skill development, and friendship.
Volunteer Commitment
Families are required to complete a set of Bingos and Kinsmen volunteer shifts annually. Requirements are set annual in conjunction with program size. Additional volunteer opportunities include chaperoning rehearsals and performances along with the opportunity to be a part of the Board of Directors.

Membership Costs
Annual Membership (September to July) is $1,500.00 with payment plans as low as $75 per week. Membership fees cover all rehearsals, band camps, performances, and uniforming.
Tour Fees
Annual Tour Fees based on destination range from $1,500 - $3,500 annually. Payment plans are offered as low as $50 per week. Tour fees cover all travel related expenses apart from personal spending money. Tour participation is optional.
Fundraising Opportunties
Multiple optional fundraising opportunities are offered annually to help members offset membership costs and touring fees. Some members manage to pay for their entire season through optional fundraising.

If you’re unsure if the Round-Up Band is right for you, we are offering 2 free rehearsals until October 12, 2023, so come give it a try for a couple nights, and the instructors at rehearsal can help you with registering in person.
When are rehearsals, where are they, and what's the commitment like?
When are rehearsals, where are they, and what's the commitment like?
The band rehearses every Thursday night from 6:30 to 9:00 PM, from September trough June. Rehearsals are held at Stampede Park.
Each month members are expected to attend one Weekend rehearsal that usually takes place on a Saturday and Sunday from 8:45 AM to 5:00 PM.
In July, the time commitment
increases for the majority of our annual performances.
Our policy is that school music functions and school exams take
precedence over Calgary Round-Up Band activities.
Do I need to bring my own instrument?
Do I need to bring my own instrument?
Calgary Round-Up Band provides some instruments such as Tubas, Baritones, marching French Horns, Percussion
instruments and Colour Guard equipment because they are unique to marching bands.
All other instruments are to be provided by the member, whether they are personally owned or rented from their school board or another institution.
How much family involvement is there?

Each family is required to work between 6 and 12 Bingo shifts annually. The total volunteer requirement is dependent on the total number of band members in any give year.
Bingos revenues go are applied directly to the reduction of annual membership fees. With our Bingo revenues membership costs would be in excess of $3,000 annually.

All fundraising initiatives are member driven and participation is optional. Annual fundraiser revenues are designed to offset individual member expenses.
